Gazprom says to create record gas reserves before next winter

MOSCOW, Apr 22 (PRIME) – This winter has demonstrated the necessity of natural gas reserves in Russia’s underground gas storages, and gas giant Gazprom will create a record reserve of 72.662 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas by the next winter, the company said in a statement published on its Telegram channel late on Thursday.

“The results of the season underlined again the necessity of the volume of gas reserves in the underground storages and maintenance of a high production level until the end of the cold weather,” the company said.

In mid-March, the air temperature stayed below the climate average level for two weeks, and on March 10, it plummeted to minus 11 degrees Celsius.

In October–December 2021 and January–March 2022, the company delivered a record amount of gas to the national consumers through its pipelines, and ensured stable and reliable delivery of gas to the customers in Russia and outside the country, the company said.
